Indiana Jones revolver

That's good to hear. Can the orange tip be removed without damage, and I apologize if I missed it, but which store did you order it from?
My apologies. I'm talking about a different gun that I purchased from a different website: AST-online in Taiwan. They don't sell Smith and Wessons unfortunately otherwise I would've tried buying from them.

As far as the orange tip what gunnerk19 said.

Still no letter from U.S. Customs. I may just try doing a refund through PayPal buyer protection. I feel bad doing that to the retailer but I also don't want to lose that money.

That's A LOT of money, I understand 100% why you would. I'm still hoping you can use the letter to contact S&W and get them released.

Mine is on it's way, so I imagine like everyone has said so far, it should arrive, but I'll keep the thread updated.

Well, according to tracking my revolver is in Hawaii, going through customs so...here we go.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

I tried ordering from them yesterday I got a "couldn't ship to your address" under shipping method. Anybody else have that problem? I'm in California. Wonder if that matters.

Thanks. I figure since it's the weekend, I'll see/hear something around Tues/Wed at the latest with all the recent events going on...

Could be. Especially if they aren't shipping them specifically with orange or otherwise painted barrels. Evike has two locations in California Evike.com Locations so it's not like you can't buy them there. Probably something to do with the import and not painted barrels not in accordance with CA gun laws.

Any word on your pistol Solos blaster?

Not yet. No change since Friday night. It says Scheduled delivery: Pending .

Under travel history it says "Clearance delay - Import" and under that it says "In clearance process". That was the last change since 2130 or so Friday night.

I figure I should hear something tomorrow my time (NC), since perhaps they didn't work over the weekend *shrug*. For sure I'll post something when I hear it, but not going to lie, the longer it takes the more nervous I get. Did you try to get your money back or the letter yet?

why can't I turn off the itallics? lol.

I have yet to receive my U.S. Customs Seizure letter yet which is really pissing me off. I haven't tried reaching out to PayPal to invoke Buyer Protection but I may just do it because I'm not about to forfeit that money if I can do something about it.

I keep going back and forth on whether I want to try and reach out to Smith and Wesson or if I should just get my money back and be done with it. The problem is that it makes me wonder if I am now on some sort of notice so that if I try to order another airsoft from overseas if my items will automatically get flagged. Which would suuuuuuuckkkkkk.

It really does make me wonder how Todd Coyle was able to get his into the country. I mean I'm REALLY glad he did but I know he had to order hundreds of them so how in the world he got them cleared by customs without getting stopped makes me question how he did it. Maybe I can reach out to him and ask.

I hope your's clears without issue Solos blaster.

I found another site that sells these overseas a few days ago but they sold out since I found the site. It would be a shame if these couldn't be imported anymore to U.S. collectors.

I would try to get the money at this point. If you get the revolvers, you could always resend the money to the dealer. I would also try to reach out to S&W to get an idea or an answer on the whole ordeal.

***ETA***

I wonder if it's worth getting in touch with Todd to see how he managed to get his in country? Perhaps, he could even get these versions shippped to him and resume selling replicas on his website...
I don't think you'll be on a list or anything, but what I see happening is perhaps more scrutiny to seemingly to copyrighted replicas. Maybe this is will stop all S&W replicas from coming in, that would be horrible if it did.

I reached out to Todd to get some insight and also asked if he had any plans to offer this or any other version of the Tanaka 1917 again. LOVE Todd's Costumes products and if he offered them again I would buy one in a heartbeat.

I heard back from Todd Coyle today and when he purchased his Tanaka 1917's he didn't have any issues getting them to his shop which was 10 years ago now. He did say that customs recently has been cracking down on trademarked items and infringement. He acknowledged that if he were to stock them again (which he has no plans to sadly) that he would have issues getting them in hand as well. I was under the impression that there were somehow sanctioned by Smith and Wesson.

He also mentioned that he has no plans to restock them either because they are being offered to buyers like us at wholesale prices which makes them not profitable for him. I totally understand it from that perspective because that's his livelihood.

So for anyone curious about that I figured I'd fill you in. I think I'll give Customs until the end of this week. That letter has been too long in coming so I'll just request a refund with PayPal if that letter doesn't show up by Saturday. I'm sick of waiting.

Thanks for the update. I had a feeling that would be Todd's POV about it, not bad but that they are probably already being sold as cheap as they can be, mark up for him to make them profitable, etc. it just makes sense that he wouldn't.

I gotta ask for anyone who has gotten one: Psab keel, AJK001 , SethS, CT1138, etc. How long did yours sit in "customs jail" or where it says "clearance delay", before being sent on it's way. I know one member said it was all off and showed up before it even showed a delivery date. Did everyone's go through Hawaii or did anyone's go through LA or some other port?

Still haven't heard anything on mine. I'm hoping to see some movement progress by tomorrow my time since it's in Hawaii.

My progress according to the FedEx tracking number still says Hawaii and the last update was May 8th. The only reason I even knew it was seized was after contacting FedEx 3 separate times they finally reached back to me a few weeks later from the research dept who was waiting to hear back from Customs. I finally got through to Customs after about 4 attempts and the few people who could help me were shocked I hadn't received a letter by now. This was like last week or so too.

Recently checking the tracking number it still hasn't updated since May 8th.

Here's the link to my tracking:

I would happily pay a markup from Todd if it meant bypassing any customs delays.

I would too but I can understand his hesitation to do so if his profit margins would be too thin. The other factor is that 10 years ago the demand was much higher being only two years out from Crystal Skull. Now being 12 years away from the last movie and another couple of years from a new one the demand just isn't there right now. At least from a fiscal perspective it seems really risky.

Plus if Todd would have trouble, doing a bulk order would certainly draw a lot of attention no? One or two might slip by but a big order could easily get snagged much more than a small one?

I don't recall how long it took exactly, I got it a year or so ago. I do remember being surprised by its arrival. I do live in LA and it was a different world way back then
