Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

Where can I go or does anyone knows who sells Indiana Jones replica props such as the Temple Map and Whiskey bottle?

Like division 6 said, several versions of these, as well as many other free paper-props, can be found throughout this thread. The ones that you asked about specifically can be found on page 1. :) http://www.therpf.com/f40/indiana-jones-raiders-lost-ark-68238/#post1126810

P.S. Remember, these are not to be sold or mass produced for personal profit. Good luck!

Perhaps you should read the posting guidelines:

8) Do not post images with watermarks, or post items that you are trying to sell. Also, do not post asking for members to pm/email you for access to your items. If you want to share a free paper prop, post it in the thread for everyone.

My bad, wasn't interested in selling anything, just thought I would offer it up via pm for anyone interested. Saw the other images in this thread done the same way, didn't realize they were grandfathered.

Here's an odd one I found after checking out the Raiders Blu-Ray. There's a photo leaned up against the chalk board in Indy's classroom. I found a better copy of that photo for you guys. Enjoy.

I've been away from the Paper Props forum for quite a while. I thought I'd offer a sample of my latest work. This is all digital at the moment as I don't have the funds to print it out properly. Hope someone will find this useful. The pic of Ronald Lacey as Major Toht is a composite photo that I created since no photo of Toht in this pose exists as far as I know. It could be better but I had to lift the face from a screen capture and you work with what ya got, right? Sorry for the big pics as well but they are 50% smaller than my original files.

Thanks guys for the kind words. I try. Carpel Tunnel Syndrome caused me to give up paper props for a good while since I create them in digital form for later printing. Decided to not have the surgery and my hand has improved some and since I'm at home unemployed at the moment I thought I would jump back in.

Thank you Bear, it's good to back.

Caplan, thank you for your generous remarks.

All you guys do such great work and I'm just trying to get my work up to your standards.

Nice job with the passport. Looks really good. Do you have any pics of it printed out?

I did one a while back, pg 5 post 115 on this thread. Coppied from an actual passport a friend of mine had.

Excellent work.

Best,
DBCooper

Thanks, DBCooper. No I've not printed it out as I don't have the funds at the moment to do it justice. Mine is based on a real one as well. I take digital scans of the pages and draw on top of them in layers so I can say turn off the writing or a photo and just print the background and print type. Then I can print the photo separate and use pen and ink to enter the writing or use a real rubber stamp. It's these parts that are expensive to get when your broke. I've also have the pages arranged for printing and then binding. What I posted above is a version where I arranged the pages as one would see as they flipped through the passport. I'm sure your familiar with this as you've already been through the process.

I also understand why someone would not want to print the patterned background as it uses a lot of ink. My pattern was lifted directly from a scanned copy of a real passport but since only some pages were available and those all had writing, printing and stamps over them I had to take small parts of the pattern and "assemble" the page and as such I had to modify the pattern. The real pattern is curvy on the outer parts of the page and vertical in the center where the pages are bound so the pattern had to be stitched together with just the vertical pattern.

Anyway, I'm happy with it until I can find a good, clean (unweathered) original scan of a page in the back of a passport that went unused then I can get the majority of the background and only have to "lift" the printed areas out and fill the blank spots. I've got scans already for this but the passports were well worn and faded. Not what I'm looking to use.

Well I've rambled on too much here but I really liked your passport and if you have any files the background pattern that you are willing to share then please drop me a PM. I'm not selling these, I'm just striving to get the best "as new" version together so that I can print out one for myself some day.

You are our equal long, but your first quality is your humility, remember to keep it intact because unfortunately this is the case people can
that when they create something immediately take the big head.

When I print out items that have stamps on them, like on a page that has a photo attached I lay everything out in layers then print the background then attach the photo then run the sheet through again but only with the stamp(s) so they are lined up.

Another option that I just used on my Uncharted journal was print the background with the stamp then the photos with the stamps then carefully place the photo on the background so they line up.

On one of my innumerable viewings of Raiders, I happened to notice the group of pictures on the wall of Captain Katanga’s cabin on the Bantu Wind, and started searching for the largest (and potentially easiest identifiable) photo, which appeared to be a Polynesian woman. I tried Google Image Search and came up with a lot of similar pictures of different women (and men), but not the exact picture. I tried searching with various keywords and still came up short, so I put it on the back burner.

This past weekend I was inspired to try again. After lightening the picture, I struck gold.

Censored so as not to upset any delicate sensibilities.

The picture, taken by Josiah Martin and titled “A Woman of Fiji,” is page 3 of the book “The Living Races of Mankind” by Richard Lydekker, Henry Neville Hutchinson, and John Walter Gregory, published in 1902. There’s another photo of the woman, Diana, in the George Eastman House archive: George Eastman House Josiah Martin Series

The picture directly above it is called “Three Samoan Belles” by Thomas Andrew and is taken from p. 16 of the same book.

I surmise (because I haven’t seen or read anything about it) that there was an alternate version where Indy didn't fall asleep. Note that Marion's nightgown is draped over the lamp and several of the pictures are out of place (pushed behind the center photo), probably from when she (or Indy) tossed the gown aside.

There appear to be seven pictures in total. I haven’t had any luck with the other five, but I’m sure at least one of pictures is of Marlene Dietrich.
