Done / Completed Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - Elsa Lucky Clover Zippo Lighter V2.0

Alrighty, back from checking out some of the Indy props (very cool and good time!) Loved seeing the diary and Leap of Faith painting in person, along with all the other items.

Here's some more work on the lighter design (added more variation in the green shade, upsized the stem, and thickened the veins):

The stem looks perfect. The veins look too thick. If you look at the pic with the lighter in his hand the vanes stems look a little thicker then the V.1 but not as thick as V.1a. The, I don't know what to call them but the little sprouts going off the stem look too thick in V.1a.

BTW this is insanely nitpicky and I feel stupid pointing it out.

Whatever you go with will be awesome just like your first run.

Looking at this pic:

I think V.1 is more accurate overall and especially in size, shape, color. I think the V.1a is too big.

If you put the stem of V.1a on the V1 and then make the stem veins slightly thicker but the many little "sprouts" I am calling them, the same as on the V.1 I think that would be it.

I agree with @jameth1971 the stem from V1.a and the clover of V1

Keep up the great work Luke.

I have tell you something.
Don't get sentimental now dad, save it until we get out of here.
The floor's on fire... see... AND the chair.

From that screenshot, the leaves of the clover seem to have a 'love heart' shape. Which is captured better by the bolder outlines on your latest image.

Not being nitpicky, I wanted feedback on it, and I appreciate the assistance.

Good catch. I think the angle plays up the shape just a bit (from the second pic in those two, the heart shape is even more pronounced, so I believe the first one plays it up slightly).

So...

I've updated the comparisons (my last one should have been V.2a, not V.1a). Here's two different comparisons, which has V.2b (same overall shape as the original) and V.2c (more of the heart shape Raiders March mentions). On both of them the veins have been thinned a bit (between the original and V.2a), the stem stayed the same shape as the last (pushed to the left a bit like in the pic), and the green shading is the same as V.2a. Hopefully this hasn't gotten too confusing.

Please let me know which you all prefer, V.2b or V.2c:

I personally favor V.2c as well, I think the shape has a certain charm to it, but I will let the majority decide.
Would that be 'lucky charm' luke? :rolleyes V.2c looks like a winner for shape, shading and size:thumbsup
i'd like to confirm that i'm still keen!

Thanks for considering our feedback mate:cheers

V.2c looks great as far as overall look and details but I think it's overall too big.

Compare the left and right edges of the clover in V.2c to the edges on the screenshot. There is a lot more white space on the screen used lighter hence the clover is smaller on th screen used lighter. There is a lot more white space between the top of the clover and the top of the lighter on the screen used as well.

No worries on the size, just looking at the clover design. I was actually doing a print screen of the design and MSPAINTing it onto a screen shot of the template, lol. Just guestimated on the size. Also, any pixelating from the design (that's just from MSPAINT as well) won't be on the final item. The outline is actually a vector, so I can scale it to any size and always have perfectly smooth lines.

For the finished design size I'll break out the calipers and measure my previous lighter along with doing some math wizardry on the screenshot.

Awesomeness of the highest order.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got in touch with the company who produced the badges last year and have a quote for the new lighters. They'll be doing them for the same cost as last time, so I'm knocking a dollar of the guesstimate I had for each lighter (don't spend that extra money I'm saving you all in one place, lol).

See updated first thread for details.

Put me down for one. Oh yeah!!!

My first Zippo is so great that I'm interested in this second batch! :)

Just for the screen accuracy sake, here is a comparation between the screen used prop (perspective correction has been applied) and the v.2c. Of course, it's a quick photoshopped job, I leave it here just in case it can help to tweak the final design.

As you can see it's quite an irregular shape, like hand-drawn, maybe most of the supporters of this second run prefer the more regular v.2c.

I got the order placed yesterday morning for the badges. Quoted time of 5-7 working days turnaround, so hopefully I will have them in hand very soon after that. When I have them in hand and verify everything looks good and ready to go, I'll get some Zippos ordered and that should only be a couple of days before arrival. Then, just cleaning, application, more cleaning and packaging of the lighters. So... should be a couple of weeks and then I'll have some ready.

Everyone in the thread is good to go as far as being included. I'll send PMs for payment once I have everything in hand. Just don't want to accept any payment, then there be an issue that causes a delay. I like to get the item out ASAP when payment is made and I'm sure everyone likes to have their item very quickly after making payment.
