Imperial X-Wing?

Well, I got an X-Wing helmet and couldn't decide what to do with it. I started thinking and thought that there may possibly have been some Rebel pilots that defected, or possibly the Empire may have captured a few X-Wings and put Imperial pilots in them. I don't know, I'm not really into the EU stuff, but I wanted to do something different, so here's my take on an Imperial X-wing pilots helmet...

I'm still toying with the idea of putting TIE ear greeblies on, but I kind of like the clean look.

I hope I don't upset the SW purists, it's just that I was bored and wanted to do something different.

They were originally meant for the Galactic Empire but when the entire Incom design team defected with the prototypes to the Rebel Alliance this deal was over.

So an Imperial X-Wing Pilot Helmet isn't that absurd.... and it looks cool in black +g*

There is a new action figure three-pack out now, with Biggs Darklighter as an Imperial fighter pilot.
His helmet is almost like this one, but with a snout. I can not tell whether it is more like a TIE fighter helmet without the face place, or more like a ROTS clone pilot helmet painted black. In any case, I think it is supposed to represent the evolutionary step between the ROTS clone pilot helmet and the TIE-fighter helmet.

WOW, that's interesting info, thanks guys. I completely forgot about Biggs being Imperial.

ywingfighter, good eye, yes it is, but I must admit that I got it cheap. I ordered one with the amber lens, but he said that he had a smoke one that wasn't formed well due to a " mid draw power failure". I assume that the power went out when he was forming it I had to do my own trimming of it too, not the best but it was cheap :$

I'm not planning on doing the whole suit, it was more of an experiment. That being said though, now that the idea's been planted in my head, don't be surprised if you see a Imp X-wing thread in the costuming forum in the future :lol

It's an Imperial TIE helmet without the faceplate. They based it off the comics. Dark Horse decided to do the helmets open for storytelling purposes since it would be difficult to distinguish Biggs and the others in cockpit scenes.

Starwarshelmets.com under Droids and everyone else! has a proto-type X-wing helmet that has a O2 mask. looks very similar.

Very Unique... It looks great as is, though a few greeblies probably wouldn't hurt it, and would make it look more "Imperial"
