If you guys were to do a full Imperial version, I'd suggest adding the Imperial cog patches to the shoulders of the flight suit. Otherwise, exactly what I was talking about there.
Thanks again guys. A blast shield would be cool and I'm lovin' the mohawk idea, hmmm ya got me thinking now... I'll see if the maker's got any reject bits he could throw my way.
I had a similar idea years ago that I never finished. Need to get back on it. My approach was that the defected pilot kept his helmet but just cut off the trooper faceplate.
I got x-wing shells and TIE add-on parts from RA. The ear pieces were waaay too big so I made my own. I also had to majorly trim down the piece on the front of the mowhawk. I widened the mohawk with new strips of styrene glued to either side with lots of filler between.
Note how I trimmed off part of the lower front edges (through the facemask mounting points) to match how the TIE is trimmed. I also reshaped the front edge of the visor shroud to be a bit more accurate. I even went to all kinds of trouble creating those rectangular insets at the front of the ramshorns, to match my DP CA...only later to discover that that detail is inaccurate!! So now I gotta fill 'em...

Actually, that's my Imperial Crewman suit without the cog patches. (The suits are the same as the X-wing suits) I have them on velcro to get dual use out of the suit.
