Illuminating Dumbledore's wand

I can't seem to find a Thread to Exactly what i'm looking for,
you see In Harry potter and the order of the phoenix there is a special called "trailing Tonks," in this Special They go to the prop department and it shows Harry's Illuminating wand With a Marble size bulb on the End and a Wire that goes up their Sleeves and to a Battery pack so that the bulb is Really bright on film.
Here's the problem Most people who try that tend to make the wand huge and bulky BUT in The Half blood prince Dumbledore's wand has this same effect but it's the EXACT size,i was wondering if anyone has tried to do this? and i have some Sketches i was working on How to make one Out of by making a mold of my Noble collection wand.
anyway i hope i didn't post this somewhere wrong i can't find anything right
So please contact me or show me what you've got
thanks for your time

Yes, I know what you mean about the wands being almost the same size as their non-light up counterparts. I believe in Half Blood Prince, Dumbledore's wand is ever so slightly thicker - but nowhere near as chunky as the new noble light up replica. There was a shot in HBP in 'Slughorn's' house where Dumbledore wipes the blotch of blood off Harry's head - here the wand is held upside sown in his hand to reveal a thicker handle of the wand.

As for how this can be replicated, I don't know.:behave:facepalm

I noticed that myself but i've seen pictures where it's not as thick because it has a wire that comes out of the butt of the wand that goes to a battery pack but my idea was if you had a male female port in the end of the wand so you could disconnect the wire to retain some of the "magic" but it's just because I love Dumbledoer's wand and None of the props look like the one in Goblet of Fire i've Accepted that but now the illuminating wands look like toys, the only wand i've seen that looks close but i haven't held is voldemorts Illuminating my Friend Ben makes a GREAT Voldemorts light up wand and it's even got the bend in it unlike the replicas, i wish i was Crafty enough to make one my self but i don't even know how to make a mold of Dumbledore's wand ah well i'm sure someone will someday heh

I believe the wand Dumbledore uses in GoF is the original prop they made which was made from oak wood. That prop was considerably lighter than the later props which were most likely made from resin and rubber for fight scenes and so on. This first wand prop had a rougher carving and was slightly thicker than the later props. The Japanese version of this wand has the similar carving, albeit it lacks a fourth cluster near the tip of the wand and is overall too large.

The image attached was taken by someone at the HP exhibition and is what I think is the GoF wand judging by it's carving and colour.

That is the closest i've seen to it, I saw someone who had made one out of wood that was exact but he wouldn't part with it I wish i could figure out how to cast my wand to atleast try to make the illuminating wand, i may have to try.

If you are making a cast of the wand and using a battery pack then putting a light at the end should be quite straight forward. Cast the wire when you cast the wand, fit a suitable buld at the end and attach to hidden battery. A simple wire in the center of the wand should not add to its size at all.

Thanks that helps, my real problem is i don't trust myself i've NEVER made a Mold of anything but my face and the wand seems like it would be more difficult because of the how thin the wand is, i was looking for someone to get the mold from but the girl i knew who had the mold sold them and stopped making them.
