Hey Guys,

I originally made this costume last year for C2E2 but finally getting around to posting this. This is the first costume I've ever made but I've definitely been bitten by the bug. I've always wanted to make a Spiderman costume but time was a factor so I went an easy route and decided on the human spider from the first Raimi Spiderman. Sorry in advance for the blurriness of some of the pics. Hope you guys enjoy and I appreciate you looking and commenting. Thanks.

Shirt
I bought a shirt at target. I printed the the spider logo on some sticker paper so it would stick to the shirt. I first laid out the webbing in illustrator which guided where i taped off the webbing on the shirt. Next i spray painted and took the tape off when dry. I cleaned the back edges up with some rubbing alcohol (i should of planned better on that).

Mask
I made the mask from scratch. I used a second red shirt in order to match the fabric color of the shirt for the final product, This was the most time consuming part of the process because I don't sew all that much, I started with a balaclava template and made several attempts on scrap fabric. This is the part of the costume I'm most unhappy with. Luckily I had a head cast to work on to fine tune everything.

Pants
Pretty straight forward, i bought a pair of blue track pants which had white stripes on the side. I taped off the stripes and dyed them red with fabric paint.

Shoes
Bought a cheap pair of shoes from Walmart, spray painted them red which led them to get hard and very uncomfortable. I would definitely rethink that one next time, I used some canvas I had and cut out the Nike logos and glued onto the shoe. Next time I might not be as cheap and actually buy a pair of Nikes,

Gloves
Happened to find these baseball gloves which matched the movie pretty well. I took off the Nike logo in the final product.

Final Product
Here's a couple pics of the final product. Sorry I blurred out the gentleman in the picture, he had an awesome Wolverine cosplay.

This is exactly what my 9 yr old son has been wanting to make. Thank you for posting your process. I know what my son and I will be doing this weekend!

Hi sir, well if you don't mind me asking, would you be willing to sell human spider shirts? I have been looking EVERYWHERE and cannot find a single thing, if not, then well I can understand, but if you could help me out, how did you do the sticker paper for the logo, thanks.

Selling them is something Ive thought about but I dont have the resources to make them in bulk at the moment.

For the paper I bought 8.5 x 11 sheets of sticker paper then printed the spider logo on the paper and cut it out. Its not the stickiest of paper so make sure you dont take it on and off multiple times. Hope this helps and sorry I cant be of further assistance at the moment.
