How Durable Is Pleather?

I am in a situation where I have to choose between real leather and plastic leather for boots, and I need a material that will withstand casual scuffs and abbraisions from normal wear. Is pleather durable enough for casual use, or does it only last when you only put it to use every once in a while?

Thanks.

I whould not say its durable. When it gets worn the layer will crack and its easier it will rip once you get a scuff or a cut. Also it does not breath and makes you a swin in sweet and your skin will not breath.
Real leather or fabric that can breat is much better.

Real leather is indeed better, BUT to say that all pleather is not durable is not quite right. It is easier to tear (still not that easy) but I have used some pleather before that is very durable. There is some very high quality pleather out there that will not crack and will hold up for a very long time.

Hmm. In light of this information and in addition to a couple other factors, I will be choosing leather. :)

By the way, are the screen-used boots from the prequels made of real leather? The VD claims that they're synthetic leather, but the scuff marks exposed in pictures from C3 and other conventions seem to suggest leather.

Thanks, guys.

Yeah I think the VD is wrong or just trying to seem "animal friendly." If they are synthetic leather then they did an excellent job of faking it.
