How do you mount the Flash Hider on a Greedo Killer?

I'm working on my second Greedo Killer, and I'm curious what some of you have done to mount the flash hider to the barrel. On my previous version, I simply wrapped tape around the barrel until it was thick enough to clamp the hider on, but I was never truly satisfied with this idea.

Anyone have a suggestion or an idea? Pics?

Cheers!

I wrapped it once around with tape. Then I cut a length of 3/4" copper pipe about 3/4" long. I used a dremel cut-off wheel to make 2 cuts the length of the pipe so I had removed a section about 1/4" wide. Then I squeezed that around the barrel before putting the flash hider on.

I'm about to start my second Greedo Killer. I don't think that method will work as well on my MGC. The barrel is thinner around and more tapered. I'm going to have to try something.

I tried to get some info on this in another thread, but it died a premature death.

Thanks for the info about mounting the flash hider.

But a question: am I the only person in the known universe whose flash hider has the seam on the right side? The collar seems welded on - there's not a way to turn the nozzle so I can get the seam down, is there?

Many thanks for your input!

The ring on mine appears to be bonded to the muzzle. Though I bet it could be unseated with a little effort and then it could be rotated. I thought I remembered my last one (pictured above) having a loose ring. My new one is more greenish. The seam is very good, hardly noticeable and almost at the bottom.

i have a original just like in the pic above, and the clamp band comes off on mine. so you could turn the flash however you want to.

Mine has the seam down the right as well. Doesn't bother me too much. Thanks for the ideas!

Perhaps they're supposed to be welded, but some come loose. Mine is quite definitely "bonded" - I assume welded as there's a small bump on the top of the collar where it seems attached to the cone - and won't budge despite vigorous attempts to remove it. I'm afraid to damage it with any more force. So it looks like the fairly unslightly seam stays where it is!:unsure

Nice to know I am not alone - I also just saw a GK on ebay with the seam on the right side. Guess the positioning was random when they made the flash hiders.

Thanks for your input.

I used a small piece of plastic tubing the same diametyer at the barrell, about 3/4" in length, then I cut it lengthwise so it would expand/contract when I put it around the barrel. I put the hider over it and tightened it. Worked like a charm.
