how do you make a rubies supreme vader screen accurate?

not so long again, in this galaxy.....

i just bought the rubies supreme darth vader costume, ive looked on a few other sites talking about doing things to the mask, but nothing in detail, im hoping that with the help of some of the greatest costumers out there i can get some detailed instructions on fixing it to screen accurate-ness.

thanks in advance and, may the force be with you

To answer that the easiest way I can think of, there is extensive work to every part of the costume esentially to make it look screen accurate. What are your intentions with it? just using it as a costume for halloween or are you looking to do something more?

There's a lot to be done for certain to improve upon things. It all depends on which way you want to go. The rubies supreme costume is sold as an Episode 3 costume. In reality, the helmet is made from the same molds that produced don post deluxe helmet which is based off of an OT ESB helmet.

If you want to go ROTS...the helmet would take more work than most would care to do, because it's no where near an ROTS helmet. Some of the better conversions I've seen have used the supreme as a base for an OT Vader. There is a ton of info here and also on the 501st Sith Lords Detachment forums as well. These two places will get you well on your way.

The helmet alone it's own project. I bought the helmet and redid it. Like jweger77 said, its based on a ESB helmet, but with some mods, you can get any OT helmet (for example, making the triangle chin vent smaller for a ANH version). An Ep. III helmet is a lot tougher to do, since it was totally symmetrical and just a little different overall.

What I did to mine.

-Removed dome mount completely (the dome size is fine, its just the angle that's messed up. I used the back half of a skateboard helmet riveted to the mask and the dome sits at the perfect angle).
-Redo the nose (remove the plastic nose piece and thicken the border)
-Redo eye sockets (deepen them and remove the original rubies tabs for the lenses)
-Square off the mouth vents
-Redo the marks on the bridge of the nose
-Repaint incorrect color scheme pattern
-Replace/paint grill mesh silver
-Get new lenses

It may seem like a lot but you get he hang of it as you go and you its a fun project.

Here's a few pics of my Rubies Supreme after fixing the eyes, nose, various wonky or thin angles/areas, etc. and then painting it up with the two tone areas. I also added new lenses and the mouth meshes that I purchased from people here.

Before and after fixing and priming various areas...
