i agree with some of the folks here. Try to find a good light source so you don't need to incorporate the flash. With good lighting you can get up close and take a good micro photo of something. That's the quick way to do it. Or, for the best results you can put the camera on a tripod and use the aperture setting. The correct setting in AP mode on a digital camera in conjunction with a tripod mounted camera will give you great still photo results. You want the focus to be on the piece and everything else in the freame should be slightly out of focus so the eye goes right to the piece.
The second method works very well for me.
