How did the studio create the texture for the Deadpool costume?

Yes, this is a much better analogy. The same techniques and materials are used to paint both cars, even if the individuals responsible for overseeing the design/production are two different people.
 
Regarding found fabrics that looks like the screen-printed ones:
I found thick "cordura-like" stretch fabric in Beijing which I used for my Captain America Avengers suit. See close-up pictures of the fabric below (Please note that the ruler shows metric units, .ie mm). A darker, red version of this fabric, together with some airbrushing on top to enhance the color would definitely work for Deadpool or Antman IMO.

looks a good alternative to the expensive printed fabric.
Do they have it in darker red? and how much does it cost?

I've been pouring over close ups of the movie for fabric reference and i finally found it, it's called dot textured interlock polyester knit. Looking at this picture, I noticed that the mask is a semi stretchy, cloth type material, not spandex or shiny fabric. it also had this, sort of, waffle pattern to it, or rather, a micro checker board. I found a red polyester shirt that had similar patterning, then quickly made a deadpool costume.

Deets:
1. I made a faceshell instead of regular cloth over the face. The cloth on the face made the mask contorted (or maybe my face is fugly, probably that). used the pep file below, brushed and poured 2 part plastic resin (bought on ebay) and sanded the whole thing down so it doesn't look like a pep file. I used the polyester shirt, cut out a pattern, and glued is on the face shell.

the shirt i bought on ebay, it was lycra polyester and had a deadpool theme. I ended up repainting it.

the pants are dickies work pants, painted red and black, regular spray paint.

the guns are airsoft guns, full size desert eagles, clear, found here for $9.99 USD (cheapest i've found so far)

the swords are cheap kids ninja swords bought at party city (12 dollars USD) .

IDK, probably good for some amateur cosplay, but no where near movie quality, i will need to redo the whole thing

The Captain America stealth suit was printed nylon, looks like the Avengers Captain America suit was the same way. I'm sure I read that the Ant-Man was printed silicone onto fabric.
