how about a new group effort on The Red Book of Westmarsh lotr

With the upcoming release of the hobbit, I thought it was time to do this project I have been wanting to do for awhile. Before I go any further let me say that The Red Book of Westmarsh, that indyMagnoli, ob1al, and the rest of the folks who worked on it at "lord of the rings guide.com", is by far the most supurb book prop I have ever seen. I have lusted after this for years, BUT even if I came up with the extra cash to by one, my wife would not let me spend that kind of cash on a book. ( no I am not hen pecked, but as the saying goes “happy wife, happy life”) I do suggest that if you can spend the money, get Indys version, it is superb in every way, from the hand written letters down to the paper he used.
Now having said that, I propose to make a new verson to share withthe poor folks like myself for free that they could use to make thier own book. But please understand I do not want to rip off any Part of thier book “please do not post any part here”. Their book was based manly on the lotr books. Since I want to use the cover from the movie I think this time that the text should be all based on the movies. With new drawings, Please no drawings of indys, that would not be fair to him. I do believe any pics or words seen in the movie are fair game. I would like to copy the artwork from the movie, dvd boxes and movie books that we can get, but to keep out of trouble, it would have to be our newly drawn version as this will be fan art.
This is going to take a while. It took them 5 months to write it and Indy a year and half to draw and hand wright it. I hope since we will be printing ours, it should take about six months or so from start to finish. I will try to post links to our finished works and drawings here in the first post to make it easer for folks later to make their own copy.

Good place to start is to read what they did to get a good idea of what it will take. Its at: http://www.lordoftheringsguide.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9149
Even if you don't write or draw we need help with research and your opinion. It would speed things up if we could get two more frodos to write the other two movies and then have a good editor preferably someone who is really into the lotr and gets it, to make all three read the same. I want it to read in the first person just like theirs did, after all this is a journal. All I have is word 2010 so that is what all mine would be in, or If some one has a better way to post it after I use word I am open to suggestion. I have found links to the lotr the scrips to start from.( see below) theirs had 300+ pages; that would be a good mark to shoot for.
1: Someone to write Frodo The two towers.
2: Someone to write Frodo The return of the king
3: Someone to write Sam's part
4: Someone to write Bilbo's part when it comes out.
5: Some people to write the extras like some of the elven stuff, songs, poems, family trees, most of witch will probably have to come from the books.
6: Someone to use screen grabs ( that are all over the net) to interpret what the movie pages read so we can incorporate that into the book, like ob1al did.
7: More fonts. I have some( see Links below) but I am sure there are more out there. I do calligraphy, so I could come up with some new letters if someone knows how to turn them into font. Let me know.
& any and all suggestions on how to make this as good as we can.

See below for some of what I have so far. It has alot of quotes from the movie in these first two chapters, but I felt it sets the tone for the story as we go. I think it will more descriptive and less quotes as the story continues. Also there are three different handwritten font styles for now as an example. The first is Hobbiton Brushhand, the second one is Bilbo's hand font, it did not come with capital letters so I replaced them with caps from the regular hobiton fonts. The third is Throrian Commonface for now.

I have to say, There is no way you will complete such mastery with online fonts. And as far as not purchasing Indy's, you're wife can't make all of your decisions. I would say that with something that has so much work and accuracy in it, Indy should be charging about $1000. (Not that he should) :) My point is this thing is AWESOME, and make some decisions for yourself.
