Hot Toys Predator 2 Repaint

Actually, yeah! Well... kind of.

I'm in the process of moving, and I decided to assemble what I've got completed - the body, head, hands, feet, and shin pieces. I put the netting back on just to see how it'd look, and I'm fairly happy with the results. The netting darkens the pattern, but makes his lighter areas pop out more - also, it kind of brings it all together.

On another note, I'd like to say just how impressed with the Tamiya paints, FW Inks, and Testors water-based sealers. The sealer is a hell of a lot more durable than I thought it'd be. He's still poseable without anything chipping or flaking off. The paintwork doesn't burnish - even after 2 years. Also, my little Sculpey quills are still in good shape, too. Not one of them broke off while I was putting the head back on. Oh, and I also widened the hole just a bit to make assembly easier. I'm planning on doing another head with the helmet glued on. For a while, I even thought about sculpting a smoother, more movie-accurate helmet... but, the idea here is that I will FINISH it, and quit giving myself more stuff to do. Anyways, onto the pictures!!!

(I do realize some of the pics seem a tad blurry. Sorry about that - I was kind of in a rush. )

Okay, well, there you have it. A finishing point, and a starting point when I get my stuff set up at my new place. Anyhow, let me know what ya think! I still like the paint work even after 2 years. I can't believe it's been THAT long. I also can't believe how long it took me to find this thread. I thought it'd been deleted.

Thanks for looking!!! :D

Thanks so much for the kind words!! They mean a lot to me. :)

As far as what airbrush I use, I have an Iwata HP-CH that I've had for ..****, five years. I swear, you keep 'em clean and in tune they'll last forever. I'm trying to save up for an Iwata Micron right now. Might take me a while, though. For basecoats and primers, I use a cheapy badger knock-off I bought from Harbor Freight tools. I gotta say, not bad for fifteen bucks.

one word WOW!! the paint job on this is just crazy (can we say golf clap to you my good man) the face just looks wicked cool also. Very nice job there my good man.

Thanks, guys!! :D

Well, as far as other figures, I've tried to get started on my NECA P2 figures - but, no such luck. I'm having a ******* of a time trying to get the to come apart successfully. The only thing that I've managed to do so far, is break most of them. *S I G H* Nothing a little glue won't fix, but it's turning out to be an [unnecessarily] huge pain in my ass. I've seen most re-painters have had luck getting them apart... but oooooooooooooooooh no, not me!
