Homemade POTC Swag

I am new here and not nearly as accomplished at making props as some of the very talented members here on RPF.
But here I go... I'm going to post a couple of things I made in the past. :$

Bamboo paneling:

Bamboo blinds did not work for me. They fell apart after I was almost finished with the first map...AS YOU CAN SEE

Started staining...

Painted alternating columns with oil paint

Calligraphy before "antiquing"

The calligraphy I had originally painted on the map backing that fell apart came from the original movie map. It was such a hassle to repaint, that I had my own message to a friend translated into the characters I painted myself by a professional calligrapher.

Next, antiquing with more stain, oil paint and sanding

Ta da!

Now, I'm starting a functional map!

First I tried a variety of straws. Broom straw, pot scrubbing straw=
a lot of trial and error...

But eventually I found this...

This is my store bought collection of POTC goodies (lol)

Got a life size DJ standee, 4' x 6' AWE Barbossa, Jack DMC & AWE, (and JOKER 8} ) bus shelter posters....18" Movie Manics & Hot Toys...

Sadly, I haven't collected much of anything lately... I bought the DX1 Joker by Hot Toys, got a 4x6 NOES/Freddy bus shelter poster, but that's really it.

I'm hoping to find some "killer" POTC Blackbeard swag soon!

I'm starting a new map. I'm trying to find a better hi res image of the map than I have, now so I can hand paint the details (ie. foy, etc.)

Anybody know where I can find one? I have the Disney books, and my original map, but I need something "much more better."
