Home made props? What can i make for next to nothing?

With a bit of imagination/art ability, you can make nearly anything for next to nothing.

It's only when you start buying stuff like fibreglass, casting resin, apoxie sculpt etc it gets expensive

A few years back I made a Guitar Hero sized replica of Matt Bellamy's Glitterati Manson with some scraps of wood I had lying around, a can of red spray paint, a small tub of glitter and a rainbow LED behind a piece of frosted acrylic that I salvaged from a broken laptop. Must have cost me about £7 in materials

EDIT: Found some proof.....crazy, I forgot I even had an imageshack account. I'm actually really happy to get these back :). Although my account does seem to have eaten the finished picture plus a couple of WIP ones

An air guitar is really cheap to make...LOL.

Seriously though--an Indiana Jones "Abner" diary from ROTLA is really cheap...and a quick and fun build.

One of the first prop replicas I made was a chance cube. You just need some Sculpy and a little red and blue paint.

Later I used some of that Sculpy to make a japor snippet necklace.

I've made my own grail tablet from the Last Crusade with a piece of insulation foam, a brush, some thinner an a bit of patience.

Wonder Woman's invisible jet. Dare the rivet counters to find the inaccuracies.

But seriously, any small prop will be relatively inexpensive. Accuracy depends on the quality of work put into it and availability of found items (if applicable). Wands from Harry Potter are cheap to make. Think about a prop that you would love to own, and research it.

Not really a prop but I'm doing a undead my Little pony. I'm grafting real chickenbones into the limbs and rib cage. Pony was free and 7 bucks in chicken wings, but not really it was a meal so really a free fun build for all the kids. The real bones give it a really gross look lol.

trying to design an Anakin Skywaler light saber for comic con this fall. want to add a little force magic to it. to be able to bring it to my hand magically (magnetism). any ideals?

not as nifty as magnetism but you could maybe get tricky wish some fishing wire, something like those floating batons that are out there.
