Hi! I have boobs and I make...

Can I skip the crying part and instead just consult YouTube?

Also, I need to learn how to freeze time, because it takes me five times longer than a normal person to comprehend sewing patterns. :lol

nope
the crying is essential for the learning process

I've always said a costume or prop isn't finished until I've cried over it AND bled for it!

I'm Aimee, I make costumes, some props, and style wigs. :)
I’ve been costuming for over 10 years and made over 70 costumes. I started out in anime costuming and now do anime, video games, movies/tv and historical costumes for my husband and I.

Okay. If I'm putting in the blood and sweat, might as well contribute the tears, too. :)
But in all honestly girl scout honor? I teach myself. I get a little bit of text help from other people, but always hands on has been me. Well, Abby has touched my boobs, I mean helped fit a vest before, but, lol mostly it's me looking up nonsense on Youtube. Everything has been eye balling it or just ghetto rigging lol

I just wanted to say that I love this thread. I love the talent in this thread. Amazing work all and special thanks to all the new girls who have taken time to sign up with the RPF to check it all out and contribute!

Haha! I feel like I ghetto rig everything! People ask for advice on an armor build, and I want to tell them NOT to do what I've done! I've got scars from improperly secured shin covers and I solve everything with hot glue. I'm sorta hoping to learn some new techniques and avoid all the mistakes moving forward, but it's good to know that everyone hits the same hurdles.

When it comes to sewing, I just need to learn to be patient. And always have a seam ripper handy.

@aimeekitty - I adore your Shiva! Wig styling is also on my to-do list. Very impressive work!

Alright ... after much headache trying to get these damn images linking ... :facepalm

I think I got it!

Hi .. my name is Becky and I've been cosplaying since 2005. My first costume was Emma Frost from X-Men. I fell in love with Greg Horn's art and it was create, learn, make friends, research, study, create, ever since.

Here are some of my favorite images!

Moonwildflower - OMG, Silent Hill! Your work is amazing! I'm actually part of an all-girls Horror blog and I would love to feature you for a costume spotlight. :D

That would be awesome! Most of the stuff I've done over the past few years has been horror related. I'm just drawn to the scary stuff.

Aktrez, the first is there. Did you do direct links or code links?

To the fabric discussion: I'd probably be a fabric horder if I had the space and money for it. ;) But since I have neither it's not really an option for me. Even so I have bought fabric with only a vague idea of what to do with it, and once I co-bought a whole pile of fabric rolls (and their remains of fabric) with two friends. All that wonderfull fabric is with the only one of us with the space for it. ;)

Mole: damn. Well, it was fairly close to being right. Then I'll look forward to pics of Velma.
