He's a Mean One! Finishing original Rick Baker Grinch appliances in a crazy display

Hey all!

Here's one to kick off the season

Our client got a set of original Jim Carrey Grinch appliances from the Prop Store Rick Baker auctions and asked us to finish them off, add eyes, hair and a kind of crazy display… a half body with costume and a chimney!

We were careful not to modify the sculpt of the appliances in any way during our work, only adding a bit of expression in the eyes and lower lip. The hair's a custom blend from our friends at NFT, on a backing for the back of the head and hand glued on the face.

Do you happen to know why JIm Carrey complained so much about the make up for this movie?

He got really claustrophobic in the full body makeup, to the point they ended up hiring an CIA operative specializing in torture endurance to train him to cope.

Great display. Great pose. Unique and original idea. Your shop is really turning out some great work!
