Am I the only person in the world who hasn't seen the internals of the original P1 release mechanism? I feel like it.

From what I understand that is still being debated as even the very famous Phaser autopsy done years ago didn't show the release mechanism. It seems everyone who has done a full blown copy has done it differently and if anyone does know how it was done they have not told the general community.

Ok, yes it did show it but I think there is or was a lot of debate of how it actually worked. At least I thought there was.

I’ve had hero phasers on the brain while reading along on the auction phaser & comm thread, and was reminded of this epic scratch build, so bump.
