Hero Phaser Scratchbuild

hello I love your work I tried this once with modeling board, I have since lost the phaser schematics. Could you eith tell me where to get one like you used or email me a copy of the plans you used. thanks

Yeah a little, not much to post about. I haven't had much time to work between the weather and other commitments, and I've had a cold the last couple weeks. But I'll be back with more soon.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been working on this but I haven't taken too many new pics, I've just been working through. Here are the few pics I have taken.

I made the master for the top rear ribs with styrene strips. Two sizes for the ribs and the spaces between, glued together. The aluminum bar is a guide to keep them straight.

The last thing to do before painting was to make the rear fins. I cut rectangular blanks on my band saw. Then taped them together and shaped the rear corners.

I then cut each one to length and cut out the inner portion.

And cut the clear spacers from acrylic sheet.

Test fit after gluing everything together. The slot in the P2 was cut too large. Also the bottom fin is too long.

I trimmed the bottom fin and filled in the slot with styrene strips.

After final clean up I gave the P2 halves a coat of Tamiya primer.

Fantastic ! Iv'e been missing this build. the ribs and fins look awesome. very much a teaching tool this thread Is. thank's man...

Rob's build definitely shows that the original "hero" phaser was an intricate work of art that far surpassed the budget of the show, and rivals the detail built into present day Sci-Fi movie props.
