Have you tried Talc Powder? Run it in your hands and bash them against the dreads then rub it in. Works great for me. Others use white ink or shade it with a blue hugh

You'd be surprised. Rub it on your hands and then bash the dread with it. Then lightly rub it in and it creates and aged effect. I have done it on mine looks great. Found out one day by accident

I would use a sponging technique..get the colour you want and use a natural sea sponge to dab on. I have used this on all areas of my build and it is very subtle or full on depending on the pressure you apply..

I played around with doing some elder dreads, and discovered that it was best for me to pour a white dread, then AB black inks onto them.  I realize that this probably isn't an option for you, just thought I would mention how I did it.  If I were doing it I would take the existing black dreads, paint them all white, and go from there.  I'm not sure how much color you're going to get painting over black, so a lighter base followed by the desired color may be the way to go.

I'm pretty sure Hez has hung up his spurs, not sure if it is permanent or just for a while?

Didn't realised this was from 10th May so if it has already been answered apologies,
