Awhile ago, I read a thread here or a Star Wars forum (about Vader lenses) about making lenses darker with transparent tint.

Anyone know of any good leads on where to get these?

Just a sugestion a friend of mine sells sunglasses he new of a guy who cuts and shapes sunglass lenses and had some made for someone else I knew who has a Darth Vader costume they were just a little small but very unnoticible. Here in Southern Cali. They were very dark and he said the vision was way better. then the old lenses.

Do you mean window tint? You can get that from an AutoZone. I never tried to put any on a surface with as much curve as Vader lense. There is also spray on tint. You can get a can Testors for less than $5.

Tamiya do a 'good' tinting spray, called Smoke grey.....I think its tc 31 or something.
Spraying lenses will pretty much always give a slight 'mistyness' which may be unwise for trooping but the results are pretty good if you are careful...
There are lense tinting spray for automotive lights, but Ive not seem them used like this to know iof they are 'clean' enough for lense use.
You can also mix the colour with clear laquer and spray very thinly which can work very well....
