Help me identify this hose (Zam Wesell, Kaycee Kollenz)

This particular hose has never been found. Nobody on the Zam Wesell forums on TDH have been able to identify it. I've looked through hundreds of different hoses on google and ebay using all kinds of different search terms. It's about 1" diameter...that's about all we know. The hose connectors on Zam have already been identified and can be found in Australia. But the hose has yet to be found. I realize this won't get as much as attention since it's about a prequel costume part but I thought I might ask the people here who have better resources if they have any ideas.

Yeah, some people (including myself) have explored that possibility, though no exact match has been found. One of the distinct features of the hose is the spacing of the ribs. The other distinct feature is the line in between the ribs.

Vacuum hoses can look pretty close when stretched out. The problem is that they don't hold their shape like that.

The first thing I thought when I looked at it was the old hair dryer chair that sat at my best friend's house the whole time I was growing up.

I remember seeing some hose very similar to that in a suprlus store a while back...
I'll look and see if it is still there, i'll ask if they know where it came from too.
I was actually going to stop in there tomorrow anyway ;)

I used to have an old, orange Hoover that folded up into a case. I think it was made in the 60s. Had all sorts of attachments and the hose looked exactly like that right down to the color. The hose had a wire coiled inside of it and kept it's shape just like that. Not saying that that's what it is, but it's pretty damn close if it's not it.

Thanks for all the input so far. I've been looking at various vacuum hoses for quite some time...even in stores like Sears, Target, Wal-Mart...maybe I need to go to some sort of vacuum supply warehouse (if there is such a thing).

I don't think thats a line running in-between the ribs, I think it's a secondary wire. Also, to me the hose looks like it was transparent and colored from inside.

Maybe I need to go to the local HW, Vac store and have a look around...... I wonder if there's anything like that at the local pool shop????....hmmmm, worth a look I s'pose.

Funny how Kaycee's connectors look like Zams with the blocky bits cut off...

Cheers,

Kraig

My old TIE hose did indeed come from a vacuum cleaner repair shop. I've never seen it anywhere else.

Oh yeah...thanks for the connectors again, Kraig!

That looks an awful lot like the hose from a late 50's to early 60's Electrolux canister vacuum. (The ones that have runners instead of wheels).

I have seen Older 70's model Kenmore vac's that have that kind of hose as well.

I'll have to take a closer look at the vintage cleaners when I hit the fleamarket next time, or even make a call to the local sweeper shop here in town to see if they have any laying around that I can look at.

Just seeing those hoses reminds me of my grandma's old Electrolux though.

This looks like a DC07 Dyson Hose to me. Parts can be bought from www.dyson.com

I sell Dysons all day so am pretty sure, when stretched it is clear and has the rings seen in your pics. Hope this helps!
