Hallo,

I recently watched a video about the Watchmaker Masahiro Kikuno. In this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1moRfIXCfak&t=585s from 9:45 to 10:08) he uses a technic to sandblast metal which seems like it doesn´t need any expensive tools and would be perfect for finishing my metal prop parts. Does anyone know more about this technic?

Thanks in advance

I will Keep you updated if I find something out.

Looks like a mix of water and emery (or some other abrasive material). It also looks like a technique with a fairly mild effect. Think it would take a long time to process any item larger than a watch part. What finish are you trying to recreate specifically? Is it the lightly pitted effect?

I don't think that would work too well on steel or anything hard. Aluminium, brass or bronze and maybe good on plastics, but no hard materials. I'd be surprised (and impressed) if even worked on glass.
