Help identifying components on Dr Theopolis

I'm putting the finishing touches on Droidboy's built Theo replica. There appears to be a diode or resister between the two IC socket chips. I was just going to settle with a diode. Any help in identifing the component would be appreciated. It looks like a capacitor has fallen off between the Plot to Kill a City and Ardalla Returns.

Really looks a diode. Black color, grey/silver writing, grey/silver line on one end. And a Resistor on the right. Can't quite make out the value.

The one on the left looks like one of the old dark brown cylindrical resistors while the one on the right looks like a newer 1/2 watt light brown resistor.

I thought that too and it very well could be. Look at the image from the Awakening/Pilot. I am beginning to think that image is flipped - flopped or the one from Ardalla Returns is. So far I have had no luck in finding a cylindrical resistor. I hope I can find some old piece of electronic equipment and rob one off of it. My search will continue.

It amazes me how much these things varied from piece to piece :)

You got that right. I need to go thru the Flight of the War Witch and see if there is a good view of Theo in the final episode of the first season.

Something else I noticed on the Twiki Is Missing screen caps. It appears that there may have been a switch on this piece. What do you think? If that is a switch, thats the same place that Gregg placed the switch on mine. Also it kind of looks more like a diode on the left side in first image.
Its hard to tell though because of the lighting.

It looks like a diode to me with the clear(ish) plastic sleeves on the leads, with the one on the (+) side being longer before the bend down.

I wonder if I would have even tackled this if I'd been aware of sooo many variations.

Just because of this thread, and the fantastic work, I had to go pop in some Buck Rogers DVDs tonight. :thumbsup

I figure I would go ahead and mention this. Stu Phillips will be conducting the Golden State Pops Orchestra on Oct 24th. Music from Battlestar, a new suite from Buck Rogers, Knight Rider and more will be featured.

Now back on topic...

Continuing... I'd be there if it wasn't for our star wars fan days here dallas is that same weekend. The new BSG orchestra with Bear McCreary will be playing a suite of its music showing off the ques from Stu.
