Help identify parts!

hey guys,

I was wondering if someone could help me identify some parts from the New Series Doctor Who console. The console is a hodge podge of parts from wherever so someone here oughtta recognise them...I hope!

First up is a lever:

Then is a rotating wheel with a lever:

Lastly is this part which I only have one picture, but it has a wheel with a handle that you twist somewhat like a valve...if that makes sense:

Whatever direction you all can give me that would be fantastic!

Looks like a small boat throttle to me.

Looks like a part off an old lathe.

Thanks for the quick replies!

I googled the throttle idea and I definitly think that is the right track, however finding the same model and look may be difficult aside from custom making the device, does anyone recognise the setup with the dial and look?

As for the Lathe, that looks really close, I found a number of candidates for it...Does anyone know what the whole part is called so I can look up old parts as opposed to a whole lathe or just the handwheel?

I'd say the levers are vintage (WWII - early 'nam) aircraft. They look like they could be throttle, fuel mixture and all the other happy crap levers old warbirds used to have. Considering the heritage of the show, probably british. So that only narrows it down to hundreds of makes and models ;) :lol

Though, on closer inspection, the one bent handle could be from a boat. If the label says "presss to prestart", it could be the choke found on boat throttles. But whatever it's from, it could be hard to identify because it looks like the housing cover could be missing.

The dial seems to be a vintage altimeter, probably from the same poor bird they gutted the levers from.

IMHO, the bent black lever thingy kinda looks like it may be a motorcycle foot shift lever? Anyone here perchance have old pictures of Triumph's, Norton's or BSA's to look over?

I'll go with the aircraft controls theory. The wheel looks like a trim tab.
(That allows you to correct for wind/drift with minute adjustments rather than using the control stick.) It might not be a throttle assembly - could also be for flaps, landing gear, or engine cowlings.

Looks like a wheel hub from a scooter. Difficult to tell without scale, but my vintge Lambretta had a similar one.

Not spot-on, but you can see what I'm getting at. This one is missing the steel cap in he centre that protects the wheel pins.

hey guys thanks for all the replies!

Jayn, I am not sure on that site as nothing is specific at all!

aircraft control lever assembly and the boat control with lever.... Still tells me nothing so so far.

Gigatron, yes british, hopefully someone may unearth something....

Birdie, that is a great idea! How soft is the hub? The control is used by hand and spun, if that makes sense.

The wheel hub is made of metal. Have the controls been the same since Season 1? I may be able to get some better caps for you.

Somewhat. There are actually two of these wheels on the New Series console.

The control is actually used in the first couple episodes.

Bumping this, as while watching Age of Steel last night I saw this:

They have also used this part in the End of Time on the spaceship. According to bobsbits, where the parts were purchased, he had two and the BBC bought both.

He maintains that it was a boat control lever...and I would still like to track one down. Anyone recognise it?

Hi, the rotating wheel i'm sure is the trim wheel from a jet proverst trainer aircraft, i'll see if i can find some pics

looks like they have just removed the casing. the dial at the back is missing from the cockpit pic but you can see the hole for it. In one of the posted pics you can see port written on it, this was used to adjust the aircrafts trim during flight. The other console and leaver looks like its from a large power boat.
