Help and Ideas regarding Specific ribbed tubing material? DAFT PUNK DISCOVERY GLOVES?

Hello I found these photos of someones Iron man Hand plate glove build out of foam and noticed the white ribbed glove coverings on the inside and they reminded me of the Sculpted ribbed gloves that Daft Punk wore during the Discovery Era costumes in 2001. Does anyone know what materials could be used or if they remember the thread of this iron man costume build. I did not take these photos, credit goes to the original member. I know the original gloves were hand sculpted out of clay then molded.

Sorry to bring up a dead thread but that just looks like PC cable wrap tubing to me, though it wouldn't be the most comfortable thing to wear long term.
