Headpiece size question

I've decided I might just go ahead and remake my headpiece to the staff of Ra....but from what I've been reading, it appears that it's only about 3-1/2" in diameter....is that right?? That seems awfully small.
The one I made is probably about 5 inches in diameter, and now it seems that I may have made it a bit too large. Before I commit to making a new one, I want to know for sure that the size is accurate at 3.5" in diameter.

Here is my original...too big??

I'm no expert on the size, but I do know that if you were too burn the details into, lets just say your hand, 5 inches would be too large for the actual prop

boy you really have to be careful how you type in this kinda info LOL

my (headpiece of RA that is) is 3.5 inches

Yep, a 5 inch diameter is going to be quite a bit too big.

Circumference: 10 11/16th inches
Diameter (from both left to right and top to bottom): 3 3/8th inches
Thickest part (in the middle by the bird): 6/16th's of an inch
Thinest part (at the edges) 1/8th inch

these are off a real headpiece
