Need Giant cereal bowl help

Ok..I need to make a huge rounded cereal bowl (aprox 5’ in diameter) for an event my wife is doing. Here’s the requirements:

- a person needs to be able to sit in it (so strong)
- hopefully won’t weigh a ton (need to be able to move it)
- not too expensive

So far the only things I’ve come up with is getting a giant beach ball and fiberglass if over it …but that is going to be a ton of messy work

Or making the outside out of foam sheets and sticking a kiddie pool in the center…

Any ideas I’m missing here? I haven’t found any bowl shaped things that size I can make work…help!

To eat out of?

Vacuform out of Petg

Amazon. Paint the outside or coat with epoxy

Hmmm.... five feet in diameter is pretty big. I would say, maybe use pink foam insulation sheets, and cut out circles that gradually get larger, until the largest circle is five feet. Glue them stacked to create a bowl shape, then once dry, sand them so you no longer see stacked circles and it all smooths out. Then coat with either fiberglass, or Bondo, and sand it really smooth for painting.

Oops! Sorry, had a Spinal Tap, Stonehendge moment.

Still Amazon.

Beach ball.

Cover it with aluminum foil. Tape the foil sheets down on the ball to a hemisphere.
Tape the base down on the ground
Use a fast setting resin like smoothcast 325.

Wear gloves, use a brush, wear a mask.

325 cures transparent, so you can add pigment to your liking. Much faster ans less stinky than fiberglass. After you make the ball, sand it down to a smoother hemi. WEAR A MASK.

Spray with clear coat after sanding.
The foil should allow you to peel it out of the beach ball more easily.

Prolly take you a day.

Cut the top half off. After the event, you may be able to sell the halves to someone making a water feature in their back yard which will lower the total cost.

Another idea is to 3D print it, but this will take a LONG time and a LOT of filament, and most likely you will need to have reinforce the inside with fiberglass, where you can hide it with...cereal?

Habitat Flex FR can also be used on a beach ball.
It is used for making realistic branches, because itnis strong but wont crack if you bend it some or if it gets hit.

Make sure ypu put the powder on glives first and then you can sculpt it over the beach ball.

Once again, use aluminum foil or maybe even plastic wrap on the beach ball first, so that it just pops off when cured.
