Hathor

This is a commission for the ancient Egyptian god Hathor. It's 18" high, and will be carved from black granite.

Here's after dressing the stone down closer to the basic shape. I used a diamond wet saw to cut strips, then break them off. Now I'll use a carbide tipped air chisel to work it down more. I've already started to shape out the base, and rear of the sculpture.

Here's an example of what the finished piece will look like.

Finally, after destroying our self-exteem with your scale models you are back at sculpting again something egyptian!:D
Keep us updated!;)

It's always a pleasure and a torture watching your work! (This should be a compliment!:D)

Very cool. I look forward to seeing it progress.

Daniel Jackson: "Hathor was the goddess of fertility, inebriety, and music."
Jack O'Neill: "Sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll?"
Daniel Jackson: "in a matter of speaking."

Just wondering what your reference is for the column?
Not often someone works in granite around here.
