Ok the original formers frame wrok that held the
plastic in the oven was not going to get it done!:angry:thumbsdown
The plastic 90's in the corners melt when heating 2mm and up
styrene, which needs a good amount of time in the oven.
So I went down to Home Depot and picked up some square stock,
hinges, L-brackets, handles.........

Original ..........

I had some hull slope issues so i blanked it with
some clay. I also wanted to make sure the area
of the hull that the canopy rested on was flat. Because
this effects the slope of the nose cone, which i wanted
to sit on a flat plane.

Even though the lower hull obviously doesn't have a canopy
it should still be close to the top hull. The lower hull had the
same issues as the top in regards to the slope of the keel
being off and effecting the canopy.

I added some clay and brought up the area the canopy
would sit on......then waited for it to dry.

Checking the "levelness" of the area the canopy and
canopy bulkhead will sit on.

Building up the hull to match the new platform created
for the canopy.....

TOP HULL:
Bringing down the cross sections to add some clay back in,
this will help alleviate any of them showing up in the final pull.

Filled back in this will allow me to sand clay across clay VS.
Clay across styrene. Sanding across different densities is always
a problem.

Thanks guys haven't been working on this to much.....small update.
Clay that was added down into cross sections sanded flush....

And just a front shot looking a bit better...... but still
needs shaping.

Good stuff! I admire your persistance.

You know you're going to be inundated with kit requests once the molds are done, right?:)

Very nice! Thanks for showing us. I've never done this before, but "seeing" it done tells me i's not that difficult. Thanks!

Question 3-D what kind of foam did you use for shaping the hull if it is foam, I would like to experiment with the stuff for future projects.

Hey bro, nah thats the Apoxie sculpt stuff their "Fix it" clay
but smooth on makes a a two part foam in different densities
that is great for tooling, I have to try that stuff one day.:thumbsup

Just found out on your Video 3-D I said its the guy from Law and Order SVU Lol, good video and tips like sitting it on a riser.
