Has anyone made a Dick Tracy Badge?

The center seal would be raised, not sunk in. On a real badge it would be applied to the surface of the badge. Just like the number 1 and the banner.

I have talked with a distributor and Blackinton won’t make one. They say that don’t have a banner that is just “Detective” but they say “City Detective” and to use the seal I would have to get permission from the city on Chicago. So looks like it’s not happening to get one from them.

I think you might need to know about a company who design custom badges. I think i have seen somewhere, let me search it if i can trace it.

Blackington badge company seems to have the closest. But I haven’t found a way to buy one without being law enforcement or getting permission from the city of Chicago

You can buy a Blackinton badge from a dealer. I found one on Etsy. The only thing you can customize is the brass number. Dealer confirmed there is no way of getting the "detective" scroll.

Why did you lower the banner? It goes above the horizontal edges of the star on the prop and you earlier print.

I think the banner had come down from the version before that (see immediately below) when the spacing and size of the seal and number were adjusted.

Honestly, as I compare the latest print to the screencap (below), Im inclined to leave it how it is. Just don’t see that the difference is that significant, but folks may disagree.

No, it’s raised. Just lighting.

As to the ribbon, yeah that pic with the times new Roman font is several iterations ago.
