Harry potter wooden wands and ollivander boxes

I finished the carving yesterday, and made some sanding.

Now,just the tinting to do again, then the electronics.
But electronics will wait, the next step, once this one done, will be sirius black's wand, will be far easier than the HP wand,I have been lucky to begin with the most difficult wand...

Hi

They look really good!
I've made a few wands but they don't have as much detail as yours.
Very patient and dedicated!

Carved from macassar ebony.
I suspect this wood to give me some headaches, like many exotic woods...

I don't know.
For the moment I have a job,and it takes lots of time I can spend on leisure,so I try to do only things for me,to keep time for pleasure.
But I may leave the job during 2014,then I would have lots of time ,and it would be possible to make some stuff for sale.
The other problem will be to find a good wood, good color and pattern, but that doesn't bring me headache when I work it.
European woods can be ok,but most of them have no dark color and pattern.
I can try to wear a mask too,but it's really difficult to me to wear mask, gloves or anything, except noise protection(already wear it 8 hour per day...)

Fantastic job on these... What did you use to get the finishes on them? Harry's wand is incredible for having been made by hand, and I can only wish I had the skill to carve Sirius' wand like that.

I made the sirius from ebony in fact looks like a macassar ebony,it was a old drawing too,40cm long and 1cm square.
The potter is made from boxwood, fine grain, easier for good details.

I would make the voldemorts wand from bone, antler, or similar maybe ivory, would be funny and really nice, this is my favorite wand,so I would spend some precious material for it.the main probelm with bone is that it's hollow.

I used some milling tools,but the problem is the machine,it's a 3mm chuck,not a 2,35mm.
I was planning to buy a machine for my personnal use, using 2,35mm tools, but lack of money, because of a new car...so I had to make the mills myself,I made a 0,5mm ball,a 2mm ball and a special profile for the grooves on the potter wand, the self made mills have not very good cutting edge, because not as regular as brand new carbide mills, but I can make special profiles,it's interesting.
I made them from steel, used tools I cut,to mke the mills,I made them with diamond rasp.

awesome sirius wand, you should deffinetely have some interest if you decide to sell some, i have a snape wand carved from gabon ebony which allthough it is missing some details still feels alive and awesome, i would still like to have one with all the accurate details hint hint haha.

I have to check again at Harry potter, I still have the Elder wand to make, and other, like the Voldemort's wand, but I still don't know how to do with Voldemort's, I will probably make it from genuine bone...
Still building some fake boxes, to feel the room for the video, it's so long to do...just for a few seconds on video lol.

you make such beautiful wands, Id like to commission some wands from you one day, when I do could I request what kind of wood u use?

Holy cow, That is some beautiful work. I gave up that anyone could ever make good real wooden wands but these take my breath away. The micro carving you did is just stunning. Any chance on you doing an elder wand? I think allot of us would be very interested in what you came up with!
