hello all! so we finally managed to have our cosplay on tuesday, 2nd august 2011. as most of you may have previously read, we planned to do it last year, but lost one of our friends on the day of the cosplay. so a year later, we decided to do it in honour of her. that means that our costumes were mostly thrown together (i have quite a bit of free time, so i completely hand sewed mine from about 5-6 kingsize bedsheets with a gorgeouss silky quality) but we did it for fun and light-heartedness. i was voldemort, but because i'm fill-in staff at my work, i didn't know if i was needed that morning, so i couldn't do anything in the way of make up :( oh well, on with the show! all the photos are of my costume, as i think i was the only one to hand make one:

being silly as a dementor:

thanks for reading/looking :) let's keep this thread going strong, guys! :D

Anyone know of any groups in the UK? Just to add i've not seen any of the later films past OotP but my costume is finished. My costume being my normal everyday clothes now mirrors those worn by Black and the like. I have some pictures. Also made a pocket watch which (Numbers on the outside case) also tells the phases of the moon with about 6 different hands. any groups out there? :) even went the whole hog with correct shoes :-O

C'mon they are English books surly we have some fellow nutters on this ruddy island!?!! I know of a con coming up but it's fullybooked. Anyone interested please message me we'll swap info, get a few drinks have a chat and hopefully sort something out.

Hi Stuart,

In case it helps, I'm a member of a UK costuming club and we have members all around the country. You dont need to be a member to join, but in order to "troop" (i.e. attend events") with us you need to have a "movie accurate" costume which has been cleared with us.

I've create a movie accurate Voldemort costume and have helped various others in making / researching other costumes so if that's something which would be of interest feel free to drop me a PM.

Alternatively, the club is called the UK Garrison (not sure if we're allowed to include links so I wont, but do a quick google and it should come up). For Harry Potter costumes you'll actually want our sister club called "Reel Icons"

I hope that helps
Kessa

Only just seen this so I know it's a bit of an old thread, but in case you still need help (or for anyone else encountering this thread for the 1st time), I'd highly recommend checking out Neill Gorton's range of DVDs as he covers the whole process of making moulds and casting in silicon, etc in really clear, easy to follow detail. It's what I used for learning how to make my Voldemort and I was a complete newbie with absolutely zero experience.... really pleased with how that turned out so I'm sure it'll be a massive help for you in achieving the above (although I know Pete used Resin for the above mask so just keep that in mind... and remember to avoid doing a "hard" cast in a "hard" mould.)

Hi Jedifran
I'm looking for someone who can make me a Gryffindor robe. I love the picture you posted of the robe you made for yourself. I realise that this post is several years old and wondered if you still take commissions?

Oh, I forgot to add:

I also have a custom wooden wand from an ebay seller, again, just drop me a pm and I will dig out the link.

My mum has also handknitted me a accurate scarf which I also offer in part of my commision work ;)

here's a pic, excuse the confused look on my face!!

I'm hoping to have a Slytherin scarf made, and was wondering how long is your scarf is because I'm having trouble finding the length of the originals and the width they were made.
