Hello all,

I made a casket for the yearly halloween display out of the pink home depot foam. What I am wondering, is there a product I can brush or spray on it to make it hard :D

Thanks.

This is great for use on foam
UreShell

Use a Brush or Roller

URESHELL

2-Part Urethane, Hard Shell Foam Coating

UreShell is our latest offering in fine foam coatings. UreShell is a marvelous hard-coat, 2-part, urethane-based coating. Its average 25-minute pot life allows for rolling or brushing. Applications cover both interior and exterior surfaces. It leaves a hard, glossy, smooth shell finish. It works great on props, backdrops, signs, molds, etc. One gallon covers approximately 320 sq. feet at 5 mil thickness. Dries to a tan color and can be finished-coated with most all paints and synthetic stucco.

$65.00 for one gallon

Thanks for the replies.

Is that the same as fiberglss resin and would you use the stuff that makes it kick quicker or not?

URESHELL

Has a 25 minute working time after the hardener is mixed it may kick faster depending on the temp
of the URESHELL and room temp
I have also mixed in smooth-on color tint to URESHELL and it works fine
you can also hand lay fiber glass cloth into URESHELL
and it can be brushed into a silicone mold its about as thick as latex paint
after a brushed coat is applied let it get set to a rubbery stage, apply a second caot
then put in your fiber glass cloth, let that coat set up then brush in your coat over the
exposed fiber glass cloth

check with rileyreplicas. i talked with him a few weeks back and he mentioned an acrylic? sealer that worked out to make a foam block pretty much just shy of bullet proof.

the phrase "i drove over it with my car" from out conversation stands out a good bit in my mind :lol

Most firberglass resin is Polyester (although you can use Epoxy) and will melt foam, he specifically mentioned Epoxy...
