Handmade 1.7m Stargate - "Where there's a will there's an 'or'"

Holy Crap, that's gorgeous! First post here, (kept missing the registration for like 2 years :wacko) Simply stunning!

Thank you, appreciate it!

Wanting to keep to the forum rules :) I have started a F/S thread in the Junkyard forum. I have one gate to sell, all sale conversations will have to be discussed there.

Cheers

Simply awesome! I wonder how that would look around the edge of a decorative pond in my back yard . . . hmmmm

Edit: Or as the beginnings of a spa . . .

Cheers guys!

It definatly was a labour of love, I hope it sells to as big a Stargate fan as me.

Ive always thought about using it as some sort of garden sculpture... dont have a garden though :)

Again - fantastic work. I see you made the plunge to ebay.

Did you use a translucent paint to bring out the castings details?

Sorry to necro this post but will you ever make more runs of this project Sevv? HUGE Stargate fan, I met my fiancee by being mutual fans of the show.

We're building a Goa'uld mothership themed bedroom.. very sad to have missed the auction.

Ok, now I am jealous. I want. Any chance of getting the blueprints you used. I would love to make one large enough I could walk through it. (Doorway any one?)

Absolutely stunning details. It looks like it could have popped up right in the desert as transport. The entire project is shockingly beautiful. Congratulations on an amazing piece of work to both of you!!

I know its been a while since I posted on this thread, honestly I didnt realise there were more replies :)

Thank you very much for the kind words. The translucent chevron pieces are clear resin with amber and red dye mixed with synthetic onyx. Lovely stuff :)

As for more runs, yes we are now really thinking about it. All sale conversations will have to happen in the Junkyard forum but we currently have a thread over there. If that doesnt sell we will probably offer 1 x 9th sections for interested parties. This would then allow people to make there own gates, I know shippings a killer on large props.

As for blueprints, I initially based this model of a 3d version I created, but as it changed so much through the making process I dont think we have definitive blueprints to share out :(

Zat'nik'tel - weve been talking via pm :)

Thank you very much bobjen, im glad you all like it.

Id be happy to answer anymore questions.

Sevv, Fantastic job!
Congratulation for your gate.

I know I'm coming in late to this thread, but I just had to say...

DAYUM!!! (This deserves the full southern double-syllable "damn!")

This is one of the sweetest looking things I've seen in a long time.

If you EVER decide to sell the thing as a "to assemble" kit, please let me know, as I'll be all there after that thing. WOW!

Tony
