I'm building an ultra light HIC for a special project. Will these metal pieces be lighter or heavier than their plastic counterparts? To some this may sound like a silly question, but many times a thin metal part is lighter than a thicker plastic part. So it's worth a consideration.

Thanks, I'd be in if there is a significant weight improvement.

I dont think either one takes up much weight at all. They probably weight about the same, bu using real screw will add tot he weight and make the metal ones heavier

This summer some time. I'll get a sample made, post pics, put up a final call for counts, and produce them. Production should be like 4 weeks or so. I'm not going to make that many more than people want, some but not a ton. It's expensive. If I had to guess a delivery date, it'd be aug/september

I'd guess about 145? They won't weigh much and dont take up that much space.

looks like we've hit the minimum so I'm going to proceed with the run. I've been going over some dimensions and research with two members here and am honing in on the proper dimensions. I'll submit them for a sample next week and will follow up.

So the run is def proceeding. Grills are ordered, and clips are started but will take longer because of tooling and sample. If you're interested in this be sure to let me know so I know how many to make. I'll have the grills in a couple weeks, and a sample of the aluminum clip piece in about 3-4 weeks. Once I have both, I'll put up pictures and call for payment.
