Sorry to derail just a bit, but I wanted to show how it can appear that there's a step before the cone, when there actually isn't one.
This flash hider I made is I believe the closest I've ever come to getting everything correct. That doesn't include the finish or the "knurls", which could use a bit more TLC, but you get the idea.
The only thing I'm not sure of is the exact diameter. I'm anxious to see what Dan went with. All the other delrin ones I've made have been slightly larger than this one, and what's funny is the one pictured here is the first one I made. I feel like the whole thing could be scaled up just a few hairs, but other times I compare it with photos of the real deal and it looks just right.
Anyway, I think Dan has got it nailed, and I can't wait to get one! I'm super excited about this project!
