HalloweenCostumes.com "Back to the Future 2 Light Up Shoes"

I photocopied the EL and used it as a template to cut out the hole with an exacto knife. I used the knife to cut the stitching in the middle and slid the EL in window. As for the cables, I slit a hole on the backside of the strap and slipped it through.

ya looks good only thing Id suggest is maybe making the whole alittle bigger the letter kinda look like there getting cut off. Did u steam slim your toe heel?

Thanks. Yeah I need to clean up the hole better by removing more around the letters. I did steam slim the toe.

Right on. Thanks for sharing.

I really want a no-stitch strap though, so I'll call this plan B.

ya me too I've been to the fabric store problem is I can't find a white that is as white as the strapes that are on there. Anyone know what kind of material there made from vinyl or pleather

I would definitely like to replace my HC straps too. I don't even care about the NIKE, as long as it has no stitches.

Thanks for the info

I admit I tried it find the Marine vinyl at Tandy leather, but they didn't carry it. However, it's still very easy to get and if nothing else you can order it from Amazon.

Also, I ordered some special glow in the dark paint today. Gonna try to make some strap prototypes this weekend if I can get everything in line tomorrow.

I don't know. I kind of like the visible stitching now, it gives it a unique sexy look along with the toecap!

But seriously, just get a piece of faux leather/vinyl and cut the same length that that is on your existing strap and just glue it back.
You might need to add a thin layer of something else to thicken the strap, maybe some thin strong fabric in between the faux leather layers?

That was what I was thinking.

Just glue two strips of vinyl together more or less. Would a third piece of material between the two even be needed?

Cool show us pics

I got the paint. So I got everything ready to put one together now.

The paint is bright and the color looks good, blue-green. It maybe favors blue a little bit, but I need to see it painted on something. Not just in the jar. I'll see if I can put together a rough mockup tonight and see how it looks.

The test strap is drying, can't put a logo on it.

So here's a logo on top of the bottle, fully charged.
