HalloweenCostumes.com “Back to the Future Hoverboard”

I cut out all the pieces of lenticular and plan on using spray adhesive to stick them on the board. I, too, bought the green Velcro from ladesigner on ebay. They are in China and I should be getting it in the next week or so. I did all my measuring and cutting out while watching BTTF2 with my 8 year old son explaining to him that I was 8 years old when BTTF came out and we really thought 2015 was going to have flying cars and hoverboards! :lol

Do not put any kind I glue on any visible area! It will ruin the 3d effect an look like a wet pink blob trust me I've seen it that's why I chose to only place glue under the decals but your mm method won't allow for that so use double sides tape only unless you want your lenticular ruined...

Thanks for the tip. I did buy double sided tape today too just in case.

How much of a sheet of the sommers lenticular did this take up?

No you can't see the tape at all. You could definitely see the faux lenticular underneath and because I couldn't line it up right I peeled those sections off. I just put the Mattell stickers on and it's looking better and better. Really looking forward to getting the green Velcro in any day now and putting the magnet discs and battery pack on underneath. Gotta do some painting for that stuff though and since it was windy and snowing where I was today I couldn't do it.
 
Just finished with the lenticular.

Everything was was harder than I ecpected haha. Exacto'ing the stickers and getting the faux lenticular peeled off wasn't too bad so I figured I got one of the hardest out of the way.

Wrong lol, cutting the lenticular to shape to fit was not easy, it was rolled so it was curly and tryng to trace etc was rediculous. I free handed like 60% of it.

Then I figured ok got that done shouldn't be that bad from here on out. Wrong.. Not sure if it's the curl of the lenticular but double sided tape method was peeling up before I could tape the next panel. I ended up having to use double side tape and the smallest amount of super glue at the points of the panels.

Im waiting on my sticker and fur set from Vormz, and hopefully will get the velcro tomorrow. The rest can't be too hard right..... Haha

haha yes, the curling up was a bit of an issue for me too. I plan on putting the lenticular around the outer edge as well. I have a feeling that's going to be tough just because I have to have such a looooong straight piece going around the whole thing.

I put on the green tape on the bottom last night and now I'm waiting for my green velcro to come in. Painted new resin magnets and battery packs and will drill holes for them over the weekend.
Can't wait to get it all together!

you can see at some of the points of the lenticular the small glue dots.

it stayed on all night no peeling so it worked. The small points aren't too noticeable when just looking at the board straight on. Im overall happy!

I didn't worry about cutting around the green tape because I'm just putting the green velcro on top of it. Are you planning on putting green tape/velcro on top to cover some of the gaps? I have to retape some of my white tape because I definitely have tiny gaps that will other the hell out of me.

Hoefully getting the velcro today. I am going to the craft store now to see if they have the colors, if not I gotta order.
