Halloween costumes air mag conversion

you will have to remove the wires so you will want to replace the lights too. this means opening up the shoe. pulling the liner out form inside to get to the battery and removing the heel cup and "clear" sole.

i used angelus paints and finisher. wore them all day wednesday with no scuffing.

Any possible chance you or anyone else could perform this job on my pair? I would pay for it depending on how much it would cost. What would the cost be?

When I did mine today, one would not light up, so after changing out inverters etc, I ended up using my tester inverter which outputs a higher then the batteries I am using and it came on. It seems like this stuff needs a good shock every now and then kick it into gear.

What i don't get is why one panel is slightly brighter than the other if they both use the same parts and fresh batteries. Been running them 8 hours solid now, and still bright.

Ah right, I don't have any other inverters, just the two that came with the kit.

I'll try resoldering this weekend and see how I get on

What voltage you running?

I have 6 of the tiny 3V inverters on hand and no 12V left. I will have to order more 12V inverters soon.

What I noticed with my dodgy panel was if I tapped it, it suddenly came on much brighter, almost as if it is not making a full contact, yet it is soldered.

That is happening to mine.. i need to tape it good.. though i did peel the connector back.. and it is held by some adhesive.. i am going to invest in some crimp connectors.. shipping kills it though lol

I honestly can't remember which panel I added more solder to now and which I did not. I only used black electrical tape over the connections where the adhesives stick to themselves, so should be reasonably easy to access. I also only used hot glue to hold the panel to the inside of the strap, so should be able to re-work this without too much trouble.

I have to pull this apart anyway as soon I will be tearing my soles off and adding EL to the soles, then gluing a set of the new clears on. I am also doing EL for the bubble on heel cup, but need to mold cast the new parts first.

Same here, so it was easy to re-do.. but seems like its not my connection..its the el adhesive that the comnector has

Mine appears to be soldered onto the sheet. I have other EL sheet here with stick on connectors.

Id say crimp connectors are our best bet.. since they go inside the EL itself..and wont budge if compressed correctly..here is a link of what im talking about.. let me know if you want some..since if i buy 20 sets its the same price as buying 10 lol..

It's the 3v inverters that I got with the kit. Gonna try and resolder and maybe switch the inverter to see if it's that and try and narrow Down the problem.

Since the HC mags aren't waterproof, is it possible to spray a waterproof product on them? Or will the material it's made of not work? If possible, what product would you guys recommend?

Does anyone know where to get the Loctite Hybrid Glue that Klen was talking about in Canada? Sounds like what a noob such as myself should get but I can't find it anywhere

Do not take the hybrid just go for the professional one that is easier to find and will give you a better result, once your job will be glued it will not move forever ! ;)

Hey Guys,
I am about to buy some nike air mags from aliexpress for $130 dollars and they look good except it says that the LED lights are not very bright. I was planning on modding them with the toe slim and all that stuff but I was wondering, if I replace the LEDs with the EL sheet, is there a possibility that I will have a problem with the shoes because it has an LED issue or not? By that, I mean, do you experts think it may be a problem with the power source? because I don't want to buy shoes I cant successfully mod.
Here's the link: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/EMS-...-the-dark-back-to-the-future/32501394132.html
Thanks and have a nice day,
