I was going through my Dad's old tools yesterday looking for anything that might be salvageable, when I found this rusty 12" mini-crowbar.
I knew immediately what I had to do.
First I grabbed an SOS pad, sandpaper, and a file, and went to town on it, scraping off as much rust as I could and making the corners and business end all shiny.
Then I masked the ends off and gave it a couple thin coats of red paint... just enough so the color was there but the patina still showed through.
Once that dried I took sandpaper and file to it again, and removed the paint on the corners and scratched it up a bit. Finally, I scorched it up a bit with a lighter to darken the paint in places.
Then just for kicks I took it out this morning for a photo shoot.
