Big thank you to everyone who has paid me! There's only 10 people left to chase up, 2x being non-therpf so a strong testament to the community here.
The machine shop is back up and running now and making some progress, he's having to order more material as there was a Quality control problem with the engraving, so he's re-starting that batch he made initially (engraving was not in the correct place - his own error). I'll get some update pics when I can and he remembers to take them!

Update:
The machinist has had to scrap his first few parts as the ID for the ring was off. So we’ve agreed upon some quality control measures to be put into place. He’s made up some custom tooling and an internal gauge to ensure all the components come out bang on the money! Should mean that everyone has correctly fitting rings.

Internal Op Complete!
Next week he’ll be finishing the external op and engraving.
He made some special jaws for the lathe so that it wouldn’t i) damage the surface ii) deform it.
I should have them in hand within 1-2 weeks
