Guavian Death Gang Soldier

After seeing the movie, I was really struck by the Guavian Death Gang Enforcers (or Security Soldiers as they're called in the Visual Dictionary). Even more so once seeing the full page spread on them in the Visual Dictionary. Just really awesome costume design, IMHO. Like they should be DJing at a club in Las Vegas. I've started to affectionally call them "lightbulb heads".

The main problem, of course, is going to be fabric. I spent some time in photoshop a day or two ago and came up with this 16"x16" repeatable pattern for fabric printing. I'm looking for comments/thoughts/suggestions on how to make this better and what type of fabric to print this on.



In addition, I'm wondering where someone might able to source the part in the picture below. It looks like part buckle for a parachute harness, but I'm only been able to come up with something much smaller and a slightly different shape than the part shown here.



This is definitely a long term costume build, but I'm opening to have it done in time for DragonCon 2016.

Rad, I'm so glad someone is going to do one of these! The fabric looks quite shiny, you could try getting it done in a coated cotton or similar?

I thought about that although I'm not aware of any after market products that do this. To me, the material also drapes like it's decently thick, like a canvas or something. But, I'm still not quite sure what to apply after printing to give it that semi-gloss. Ideas?

Oh really? Interesting. I hadn't thought of doing it in EVA, but now that you mention it. Probably not a bad idea.

So, digging on eBay I couldn't find anything like that. Got a link?

I recently got the six inch figurine of the enforcer and stumbled upon this thread. I understand it's fairly old, but I wanted to offer some input here. I think I have the perfect fabric for the shirt and pants.





Item number is 1967310 and it is called Faux Leather Nubuck - according to Walmart's website ti is only available in stores, not online.
