Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 3

It's more than likely Counter-Earth, the High Evolutionary's planet that's identical to our Earth, but located on the other side of the sun, so we can never detect it. It's a place where his creations can live their lives as he observes them.
Aha. I'm terrible at the lore from the comics. I mainly read Uncanny X-men in the 80s, then a bunch of Groo in the 90s. COuld never keep up with it all an now when I try to get back into it, my mind goes into meltdown 'cause it's impossible to make sense of it- even if you buy the collected GNs!

Got for Thursday evening Imax. In the past I've been able to get Wednesday evening for some Marvel films, I guess those super early showings aren't offered anymore.

Got my ticket for opening night in IMAX. Will do a Dolby showing sometime later that weekend if I can get one.
I'm so excited, but also equally nervous. Gunn always manages to emotionally destroy me, and I know this movie isn't going to miss in that regard. I won't be ready for this one final ride :(

I’m nervous cuz my GF wants to see it. I’ve managed to not cry in front of her during a movie so far…. But damn… I mean if this hits half as hard as the end of 2

Worse… what if it hits harder!?!?

If you screengrab the 4K trailer and zoom in on Quill's eye, you can (more or less) see who he is in anguish over. In case you want to prep yourself...

But yeah, it's gonna be rough one.

Just got back from seeing this in IMAX and it was worth every penny.
I LOVED it.
James Gunn got to tell the story he wanted to tell over 3 films and he did it extremely well.
I'd say it is probably worth watching the Holiday Special on Disney+ for anyone who hasn't seen it prior to watching Volume 3, just so you're up to speed on where the team is.
John Murphy takes over scoring duties from Tyler Bates who worked on Volumes 1 and 2, but John scored the Holiday Special and goes straight into this film with that momentum and even calls back to Tyler's work which is fitting given the themes of the film. As you'd expect there is also a great soundtrack with various artists expanded to include the 90s and 2000s courtesy of the Zune Peter was given by Yondu in volume 2.

I have my ticket for tomorrow. Still don't think I'm ready to see it- especially after the (fantastic) emotional ending that was Picard Season 3. Two endings in the span of a couple weeks, of two series that have meant a great deal to me.

Whilst I don't share your love for the Picard series, for me "All Good Things" was the classic TNG ending. I do love the Guardians and I hope you enjoy the 3rd volume.
Excelsior!

Well, not to go off-topic but I freaking HATE seasons 1+2 (along woth most all 'modern' Trek). Season 3 however, absolutely was fantastic since it 'fixed' most (not all, but most) idiotic decisions made since after All Good Things (even the dumb ending of Enterprise) and even evolved the characters a bit.

Probably best not to go off on a Picard tangent here.
Let's keep it focused on the Guardians.

WOW,…..it’s the last great Marvel film

No spoilers,….only negative thing was my cinema had a hard drive problem….big fight at the end & the film froze about 6 times

….but

Definitely going to see it again, James Gunn can work magic

So good to hear the positive reviews, after what antman delivered I was figuring I’d wouldn’t be back in the theater for awhile
