I've started my Griff costume. I had already made the glove and now started on the jacket. I used a satin gold jacket that I removed the waist band and cuffs
from. I see the bottom with the correct waviness to it. I am using foam strips that I formed into triangle shape strips. I have been studying screen caps for placement of the strips and the tiger stripes that are just drawn on. Here is my progress so far.

Looks great, it's funny I'm such a huge Back to the Future nerd and never even really gave Griff's costume a thought, but it's a great one for the collection. Tunnel vision on 1985 and 2015 Marty I guess. Great work.

Edit: While searching for pics of Griff's boots, I stumbled upon this Griff related item for if you REALLY wanted to go all the way with your Griff showcase: http://jalopnik.com/5067674/man-restores-griff-tannens-hover-bmw-from-back-to-the-future-2

As for the boots themselves, I assume you're tackling those as well. Can't wait to see how those come out, I used to put the pointy cups you see on office water coolers on my shoes when I was younger and pretend I was Griff so those will be fun to see come to life

Just built a Griff Bat for my costume. I made it out if pipe insulation foam with a PVC pipe core. It's light weight and I don't have to worry about hitting anyone at a con.

Interesting that they chose a telephone pole climbing belt as a prop lol.

It must've just been on hand.

I started working on the boots. I added the silver buckle tips and I am working on the toe spike.

Ok. I ditched the metal toe spike and went with a heat formed styrene piece. Much more
like the real one.
