Green Lantern movie suit WIP sculpt pics

I am new here, but I just wanted to say wow! I will certainly be watching THIS thread. I am really looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Ive been a GL fan for a while now. I was very afraid they were going to screw this movive up, but after watching it, I was SO IMPRESSED and SO RELIEVED that they did SUCH a FANTASTIC job with it.

THe suit I thought I would hate no matter how the movie went, but seeing it in action it not only looked great, but made perfect sense too!

Anyway, I wish I could make or buy a movie version GL suit now. I was very pleased to see you making one! Keep up the good work man! I cant wait to see the finished product!

This is fantastic, was it based on the trailers as it was started in March??

Cannot wait to see progress (if there's been any)

Damn, I must have one. I love this suit and it's coming out great man keep up the good work.

i was always curious , why do they make the cod piece on these movie costumes so big is it because there is a cup there to protect the actors while doing a fight scene or is it there to make them look more mocho lol

:lol most probably for movement.

or is because "real men have big... erm... balls?" nyahaha. :lol

Hey man,

Are you the same guy that was at Jack's on Halloween 2010 with these awesome suits? You were Batman and your [cousin?] was the Green Lantern?

I'm in London now too, thinking of doing some clay/latex stuff soon as well and I'd love to hear what sort of suppliers you go through around here.

Hope you're doing well, looking forward to seeing more sweet costumes!

Looks like its going well so far~

It's so sad that they did not go the route of a sculpted suit even though they did several sculpts of a wearable suit, and it looked amazing!!!

Best suggestion if you want the look that could have been is to keep the clay really tight to the body, this is pretty much an anatomy chart come to life so if you just follow that premise you'll end up with what should have been...

well at least in the suit part of that movie, because the story sucked and when compared to First Flight, well its pretty much a good idea to pretend that the movie never happened. lol

I've got a picture of one of the test pulls from the arm sculpts that was done for this film if you want to email me for another reference if you need any

also, this is the absolutely perfect suit that can be separated into pieces at key points so allow for maximum movement and flex without tearing, bunching or buckling, you only need to mount each piece using the body cast and a spandex bodysuit and paint everything after mount to get the best looking wearable (same that was done for Abe Sapien, Ozmandius, NiteOwl, Tron, etc.)

so do yourself a favor and take advantage of being able to do matrix molding for each body piece (arm left, arm right, chest, abs, legs, calves, etc.)
