Green Lantern Movie Ring

Precisely. It's ALWAYS said "Limit 1 per customer" all 3 times it's been on their site. But the site doesn't limit you to a quantity of 1. You can type in whatever quantity you want. And over on the GLC Message Board, we had a member that ordered 2 on the first round of pre-orders, then contacted TRU Customer Service to confirm that he would receive 2. They said yes... then they canceled everyone's orders.

And yeah, the greedy bastiches have raised the price to $28.14 each. I went ahead and placed a second pre-order at the new higher price, even though my order from the last time still hasn't been canceled. I figured better safe than sorry. This way, hopefully I'll receive at least 1. And if they completely fill both orders, I'll have a total of 4, which means I can sell a couple of my duplicates to fans that missed out! :cool

Of course, if the ring truly is as crappy as in the picture ToyFare published, I may be selling every single one I receive, as the ring is all I care about.

Just trying to get the word out that it was available again. Picky much?

And it's hard for me to be 100% sure what I'm seeing, even at 1080p resolution. If we assume that's the green "Oaite" stuff with the translucent layer over top, then it looks like light is glaring off of the translucent surface, just like it does on the top of the ring.

If we assume that what we're seeing is metal, why is it a different color from the metal in the center?!? :confused

And because of the shadow from Ryan's fingers, it's also hard to tell on the actual prop, but I'm assuming it's green where I think it's green. Hard to tell from that angle and with details obscured by shadow, but I THINK I'm seeing the "hammered metal" center section, with green everywhere you initially thought it was green.

Too bad JoBlo didn't take more and better pics of the ring he received. :unsure

i still think the prop kit looks amazing, I have been a green lantern fan for over 30 yrs and when they anounced it was finally being made i got excited for years i wanted to make a ring for myself but never had the equiptment to do so. but now i am thinking of doing some reserch to doing it. anyone have an idea what i would need?

I'm REALLY hoping for one of those "Art of" type books for Green Lantern, with a look at all kinds of behind-the-scenes artwork, including a look at the film's props. Or if nothing else, a D.K. guide book with some decent photos of the filming prop. Keeping my fingers crossed... :love

i will have to check a comic i just picked up on ebay, the offficial movie comic that was exclusice to the sandiego comic con. i wonder if they have a good rin pic in there

How much you wanna bet that once this movie rocks at the box office, Marvel starts scammering around trying to figure out what property they own even comes close to Green Lantern.
My bet is that the eventual success of GL will lead to a serious attempt by Marvel to do a Silver Surfer film.

silver surfer? nah i wasnt 100% impressed by SS in the F4 movie.
as far as marvel goes. they already done the greats Spiderman, hulk, f4, xmen, wolverine, punisher, ghostrider, ironman, transformers, doing thor, captian america, avengers.. what really is there left? as in the greats? only one i can see would be sub mariner, mr marvel, spiderwoman? she hulk? a reboot of howard the duck lol? marvel has done Alot. I would love to see more DC comic movies. all we really had was several batman movies, several superman, a real bad CATWOMAN movie, jonah hex, the Shadow, the phantom, swamp thing, the watchmen, and omg a real bad Steel. Finally Green Lantern will be the DC movie that will kick start the DC movie franchise.
the TV franchises have only had 1 major hit Smallville. and then lois and clark as runner up. I liked the flash of the 90s but didnt last. same as justice league only the pilot unaired didnt make it to be seen. but movies in DC i eould love to see would be of course JLA or even JSA or heck i know its a tall order Crisis on infinite Earths that would be amazing.. even as a comic cartton miniseries. captian Atom, or a booster gold/blue beetle movie would be sweet, hope they do booster and blue beetle justice in smallville in episode 17 of Smallville.

If Parallax is being brought in this early I would expect Sinestro won't be turning until at least the second flick. I'd be surprised to learn that they're not going to include the Weaponers of Qward since they are such a huge element of the universe, so if they're skipping straight to Parallax that probably means they're planning on Sinestro being the big bad in the sequel.

Now if the Guardians banished Sinestro halfway through the flick I'd expect to see him go full villain, but putting Parallax on screen (a largely hated element of the Emerald Twilight storyline and it's consequences) they would almost have to skip to the Sinestro Corps storyline pretty quickly or risk people losing interest.

i am a bit disapointed they are jumping to the paralax story so fast, they will have the old GL fans a bit upset doing this in the origin story to jump to an event that happens near hal jordans death (one of many) i know over the years they revamped the gl history several times, but i havent read any of the recent gl stuff since zerohour so I have alot of catching up to do

You posted before I had a chance to pass on contact info for you.

Guys, if you want one of these, go ahead and PM my friend here that made it. I know him from the Green Lantern Corps Message Board and he's a good guy.

Gotta order one of these soon myself. :cool

just curious what one of these rings sell for in a size 10?

DC Directs Lantern and Ring replicas
dcd_glm_product_2.jpg

Finally! We made a boatload of prototypes for them almost a year ago. I thought for sure they were going to be at San Diego Comic Con last year.

The ring and power battery samples DC Direct were given were IDENTICAL to screen used, so these should be pretty accurate.

I wonder if those photos are proto's or the replicas?

@Shadowfox21: Are DC Directs Lantern and Ring replicas already available? I searched on the DC Direct website but could'nt find anything.

they come out in june. the ring with the lantern is a size 13. the one that will be sold solo is a size 14. both are not meant to be worn. zenix your rings look fantastic and it hasnt left my finger since i got it

And that right there is a BIG problem! They claim the ring was cast from a filming prop, but then they made the rings sizes 13 & 14, which shoots down their claim! As we here at the RPF know, the filming prop is a size 10½! If the rings were truly cast from the filming prop, they'd be a size 10½, and I'd be able to wear the ring! Instead, you have to be KILOWOG to wear the damn things!

They don't say that it was the filming prop that Ryan Reynolds wore though. His may have been a 10½, but I am there were probably rings of different sizes worn by other Green Lanterns.

Good point. Since the gentlemen that made the rings for the movie are here on the RPF and have posted in this thread, maybe they can either confirm or deny that. At the very least, we know of 2 alien GLs played on set by an actor in makeup... Abin Sur and Sinestro. Not sure what size rings they had to make for Mark Strong, and as for Abin Sur, the ring seen in his hand as he passes it to Hal Jordan is a CGI image, so I'm not sure if they made any physical ring props for Temuera Morrison to wear.

What I do know for sure is we here at the RPF have been told that the rings made for the movie production were size 10½. And that's the ONLY size we've been told was made.

Its hard to tell from this photo, especially since this isn't a screen cap or anything from the actual movie.. But the ring appears to be similar to the Hal Jordan ring
