Gray Fox / Cyborg Ninja Costume WIP

Oh, looking really good! What did you cut the plates with? I know getting a cutting tool thin enough has been a problem for pandamajik.

Thanks, I used: Dremel Diamond Wheel Item #: 179419 | Model #: 545-03
and the Dremel flexible shaft extension. The cutting wheel is really thin. The gap between the pieces is less than 2/16".

That white coat looks soooo shiny!! What are you going to use as for the red LED in the center?

This is looking SO good!
I love seeing people working on Metal Gear props/costumes. It's one of my most favorite series and I think there's so much potential for great pieces to come out of that universe, like this! Fantastic Helmet so far, I'm excited to see the rest :)

Thanks, that coat was a 240 grit finish. I plan for a 400-600 finish before final paint. For the red LED in the center (might use amber), I'm using a BA9S (LED) that will draw power from the voice amp. The bulb will be behind a 25mm dome
magnifying lens to diffuse the light source (I give credit to indiefilmgeek for that idea).

Thank you for the kind words.

Woah, I've been not very active on this site for a few months and it seems like there's been a recent resurgence in interest with people making Gray Fox/Cyborg Ninja costumes. I've seen that version of the helmet before but didn't like some aspects of it but you've definitely cleaned it up nicely. I'll be following this for sure since it seems like everyone takes a slightly different approach to making the bodysuit.

Hey, how is this coming along? Have you worked out the mechanism yet? I'm really curious to see what you are doing with it.

Yes while it is true that I have ceased producing these helmets, sales have continued because of the amount left on hand -- I will openly say that these helmets are a nightmare to complete, and I do apologize to the customers for this! I am trying to finish these to the best of my abilities before they ship out, so there are delays in shipping times because of this. Nevertheless, I do regret making these helmets because they are in-fact mediocre. I hope to resolve this major issue by making this helmet the right way, this next time, with the version Kai. These will not be made out of fiberglass or 300/325 plastic, but will be out of a different material that is 3D printed. So expect movable panels, precise part fitting, LED features, and more. Previous customers will receive an ridiculous discount as well. Just thought that I'd chime in

Great work and please keep this thread updated!

Regards,

-Jarred
