So, I am new to prop construction and plan on cosplaying Nightwing next and instead of the standard zentai and domino mask I'm going with an amalgam based of looks from various continuities. Anyway, one of the accessories that i want to incorporate is a grapnel gun, however, I'm no sure how to approach the concept. I want to stay as economical as possible and was looking at a slew of options. One of them is the prop grapnel gun from Arkham origins that retails for roughly 34.99

The cheapest((but probably least viable option....)) The TDK Nerf Grapnel Gun ((however, the handle is much too small...))

Now my last thoughts were to use a nerf gun for the base, construct the the grapnel hook from some form of foam and go from there. I'm looking at this option as the most viable, however, my only real conflict is which dart gun to use as a base.

Pointers anybody? Thanks in advanced.

I would go Arkham origins for myself it's a cheap price it already looks the part and is light which makes it great to carry around .

i have both, it really depends on the space you want to use, TDK version is small and easy to mount on a belt the arkham origins one is huge and the claws are foam and broke pretty easy. TDK you can throw some arrow heads in it and you have a small, lightweight grapnel, i do like my origins one but its just too big in my opionion, i got tdk one for my armored night wing and origins grapnel for my arkham robin... if i were you id go with the tdk its smaller and looks good mounted to a belt so you can have your arnis sticks ready to go.
